Georgios Marinakis studied at the Maria Callas Music School in Kalamata, Greece, and at Istanbul Yildiz Technical University in Turkey, specializing in Ottoman/Turkish music theory and music composition techniques. He learned from Turkish oud masters such as Osman Nuri Özpekel, Yurdal Tokcan, Mehmet Emin Bitmez, and Necati Çelik. He then spent three years focusing on sound engineering and recording techniques and has been experimenting and finding ways to unite cultures and people, exploring his personal expression through music. Today, Marinakis Music is proud to offer high-quality strings for a variety of instruments including Arabic oud, Turkish oud, Greek bouzouki, classical guitar, Greek tzouras, Greek baglamas (baglamadaki), Turkish short-necked and long-necked saz, Istanbul lute (lavta), Cretan lute (laouto), and Greek lute (laouto). In addition we offer high-quality bouzoukis and Turkish ouds.
